Getting in a good routine!

Finally Lily is getting into a better routine!

She wakes up between 7-8, eats and plays... she then naps for an hour somewhere between 9-11. Then she eats lunch and naps at 1 for hopefully a few hours! Then she is up playing, eating, etc until 9ish. She is then down for the night after a quick feed!

I am finding if she doesn't get her naps she is CRANKY and nothing makes her happy!

Lily has also really started to enjoy watching her baby Einstein dvd's and most shows on Treehouse. Here is a pic of her watching with her bear.

Lily loves the water!!

Lily hates the heat- but loves the water... here are some pics from the last week or so of Lily swimming. She was in the pool at my aunts on Sunday... and in her baby pool here:

Little Photo Shoot

This morning Lily was so happy and smiley I just had to take some pics of her- so we went out into the front yard and took a few:

First Words

She said her first word today "Da Da Dad Da" as he walked away. She said it a few times towards him so we know she wasn't just babbling!

I can't believe my baby girl has started to talk!!

6 Month Pic

6 Month Appointment

We went for Lily's 6 month doctors appointment!! It went great!

Lily now weighs 16lbs 6oz and is 24 inches long! She falls in the 50th and 15th percentiles respectively. Dr. M was very happy with her development and her growth!

She encouraged us to try different pureed foods and to give her some water. She also said we can stop using distilled water and not worry about sterilizing everything- as long as its clean we are good!!

Lily did great with her needles, didn't cry for the first one, and only cried for a few seconds on the next one. She has been off and on cranky all day though- she is always like this on needle days! But she is also extra cuddly, and I like that!!

Our next appointment is in September for a 9 month development check!

Bike and Hike for heart

Many of you know that the Cardiac unit at St. Mary's hospital has been a lifesaver for both of my Grandmothers in the last 4 years- and many people in our family have been participating in the Bike & Hike for Heart supporting St. Mary's Cardiac Unit. We had a great time today, as we do every year! Here are some pics from the day!

6 Months Today!!

I know I say it every month- but time is really flying and I can't believe Lily is 6 months old!!

She is more than we could ever ask for!! She is a perfect baby! So happy and always full of smiles. She loves laughing and playing with us!

Lily has really been enjoying eating- her favourites seem to be carrots and sweet potatoes, and for fruit Bananas are still her favourite! We introduced her to baby juice, she had some banana/apple juice in a nuby bottle with handles- she loved holding it herself! She has also had a few Farleys biscuits- she loves these!!

She still doesn't roll over much, but she can! She can also semi-sit- she stays up for a bit and then ends up leaned forward or toppled over. As for her teething- her teeth haven't broken through yet!

Lily is starting to play strange a bit- she really notices when Nelson and I aren't around and she doesn't like it! She doesn't even like it if we are in the kitchen and she is in the living room on her mat! Her cries turn to big smiles as soon as we go over to her!

She is starting to have favourite toys- she loves her taggies balls, her sophie, and her jumperoo. She also looves to chew on her bink link. At bedtime she likes to cuddle with a little teething doll she has.

I am looking forward to getting her 6month pics taken later this week- we are going to use her new giant flower in her hair!

I am sure I have forgot a few things- but she is on my lap hitting the keyboard- so I am going to finish up this post and I will add more later if I think of more!!
